Academic Skills Advice and Support

Our Academic Skills Librarian, Dr Ellie Greer, coordinates this work and runs the group sessions. Ellie is happy to arrange one-to-one support on many topics for Hughes Hall students with specific queries or for those who would benefit from an individual session. You can reach her on academic.skills@hughes.cam.ac.uk, or drop by the Library Office.

Ellie also hosts weekly drop-in academic skills ‘surgeries’ during term time on Tuesdays 12:30-1:30 pm in Seminar Room B. Feel free to stop by to ask a question, get some feedback, or just to  do some work.

Upcoming Academic Skills Sessions

Ellie also offers training sessions on working with your supervisor (for incoming undergraduates), using the library catalogue to find reading materials, discovering resources on a topic, and a four-part mini-series on time management. You can find more details and sign up through the college academic skills events page Academic Skills Events – Hughes Hall.
