Johnny has a deep interest in translating foundational research that provides solutions to global health challenges into efficacious interventions to prevent diseases that have significant impact on societies. He currently sits at the interface between academia and industry where he contributes to creating opportunities for translational activities and he has been directly involved in launching and growing Wren Therapeutics that is focused on drug discovery for debilitating diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
During his 10+ years as a researcher, he has authored more than 50 publications in top-tier journals with >2k citations. he has built a strong expertise in research design, communication, high performance team building and management and science valuation and translation into drug discovery programmes.
His work has been acknowledged on several occasions in the news, including in BBC, and as a result of his contribution to the field, Johnny has been invited to several international conferences and panels as a speaker and chairperson.
In addition, Johnny has been awarded the Borysiewicz Biomedical Sciences Fellow for the innovative and translational impact of his work and has graduated from a Senior Management Programme at the Cambridge Judge Business School where he has strengthened his management and leadership skills.
