John Rawlings has been a Non-Executive Director since the mid 1990s, most recently at Skipton Building Society, where he was Chairman, and at QNB Holdings which held the European interests of Qatar National Bank. Earlier he served as a member of the disciplinary panel of the Securities and Futures Authority and was a member of the founding Board of the Financial Ombudsman Service. His other NED roles have included a stockbroker, an asset management company and a housing association.
John spent five years in the Foreign Office after leaving Trinity College, Cambridge and then moved to the merchant bank Morgan Grenfell & Co Limited where he became Managing Director of the Banking and Treasury Division and subsequently Deputy Chairman of the Bank.
