John is a trustee and director of Anglian Learning, a Cambridge-based multi-academy trust responsible for 17 primary and secondary schools based in and around Cambridge. He also works with the Ely Diocese church buildings team, guiding parishes through the faculty process required to gain approval for building and other works and is developing proposals to assist the maintenance and preservation of churches at risk. He is currently studying for a Master’s in buildings history at Cambridge.
John was an energy industry executive responsible for developing and managing conventional and renewable energy businesses and major capital projects in the UK, USA, Middle East and in China, where he lived and worked for ten years. After gaining a degree in physics and computer science, John started his career as a software engineer before transferring to the energy industry.
