Honorary Fellow and former President of Hughes Hall
President of Hughes Hall from 1993 to 1998, Dr John Dingle was Director of the MRC supported Strangeways Research Laboratories from 1979 to 1993. A former Fellow of Corpus Christi College, in 1998 he won the Heberden Medal of the British Society for Rheumatology in recognition of his research into arthritis. Treasurer (1983-1990) and President (1990-2002) of Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club, he led Hughes Hall at a time of academic progress and sporting achievement with “warm and welcoming good humour”.
John Dingle was elected to an Honorary Fellowship of Hughes Hall in 1998.
