Alison Shakespeare is Bursar of the Perse School Cambridge, an independent school educating 1,700 pupils aged 3 to 18.
Alison read geography at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. She then joined PricewaterhouseCoopers and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Prior to joining the Perse, Alison was Business Director/Bursar of Leicester Grammar School Trust, where she oversaw the construction of a new school site and the relocation and growth of the Trust’s schools.
Alison is a Compliance Inspector, carrying out school inspections for the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). She has previously served as a Director of the ISI, a Director of the Independent Schools Council, and a Trustee and Director of the Independent Schools Bursars Association (ISBA). She was national chair of the ISBA 2017-18.
