It is so fantastic to see the College getting busier, new faces arriving and our wonderful international students emerging from isolating.
Staff who work directly with students are back at their stations, if they ever left, and we are open for business, albeit carefully, further apart and with our smiles covered some of the time. One obvious difference is our fantastic new Marquee café.
Sarah was on duty for its first day open and delighted to see many of our students trying it out.
Pierre Thodoroff has recently joined Hughes Hall from France to begin his PhD in Computer Science and was one of the first students through the ‘door’.
“I am impressed by the creativity Hughes has displayed with the Marquee and am enjoying my time there both for socialising and studying”.
We are so grateful to our students for taking care in and around College. Your thoughtfulness is so important and doesn’t go unnoticed. With mask wearing, social distancing and one-way systems now part of our daily routines, we are all getting used to putting the wellbeing of ourselves and each other ahead of other considerations for the time being.
