Cambridge 21+

Outreach programme and free residential for mature undergraduate applicants.

Cambridge 21+ is an outreach programme for prospective undergraduate students with ‘Home’ fee status (fee status criteria), who will be 21 or over when they begin their first degree. It is run by Cambridge’s three mature Colleges: Hughes Hall, St Edmund’s and Wolfson.

If you are considering applying to Cambridge and want more information on the mature student experience here, individual advice from our admissions staff, support with study skills, careers advice and to meet other prospective mature students, apply to join the programme today.

Hughes Hall is a different type of Cambridge college – all our undergraduates are over 21 and have arrived by different routes, with different backgrounds, bringing different experiences, strengths and stories to their studies.

There will be a Virtual Programme taking place 20-22 April 2022 with three evening Zoom sessions. (The deadline to apply for the Virtual Programme is 13 April.)

And, there is a funded Residential Programme during 7-9 July 2022 where you can tour the three mature colleges, attend departmental and university open day events and find out more about applying and studying as a 21+ undergraduate at Cambridge.

Please note that places for the residential element are limited and those undertaking the first stage of the programme are not guaranteed a place. Selection for the residential programme will be undertaken separately in May/June.

For more information and full details, see the Cambridge 21+ information page.

See the Hughes Hall, St Edmunds, and Wolfson admissions pages for more information about undergraduate applications to the mature colleges.

The video below shows you around our College and community and this page allows you to meet some of our students, and read about their experiences of Hughes Hall, their academic interests and what led them to Cambridge.
