Bridge Awards open for business!

Calling student entrepreneurs – prize total of £1750.

The Hughes Hall Bridge Awards 2023 are open for applications; see details, themes, contacts and how to apply below.

What are the HH Bridge Awards?

The Hughes Hall Bridge Awards is an entrepreneurial competition where student teams present solutions to real-world challenges. It offers students a unique opportunity to engage with practical solutions, interact with experts, and compete for substantial cash prizes. It’s important to note that this is more of an IDEAS competition than a business competition – your passion is what truly matters, and you don’t need prior business expertise to participate!

How will it benefit you?

The Bridge Awards present an exciting opportunity to collaborate with like-minded students, work on inspiring ideas, and lay the groundwork for future collaborations. Your involvement demonstrates your ability to think outside the box, showcasing your critical and innovative thinking capabilities. These skills are invaluable for your future endeavours. Moreover, the competition offers prizes and a chance to network with professionals in your field.

How to participate?

We are inviting applications from teams with 2 to 5 participants who wish to propose innovative solutions to problems or challenges our society is currently facing. This year’s thematic areas are linked to the work of our Bridge centres.

Our thematic areas include:

  • Resilient Education Systems in the face of climate change
  • Improving climate change dialogue for stronger climate action
  • Oracy and educational dialogue
  • Practitioner enquiry
  • Digital Innovations in Education
  • Innovative Tech Solutions for Businesses’ Climate Action
  • Digital platforms for improving healthcare delivery

Details

Deadline for applications: 15th February 2024.

Applications related to themes like healthcare, digital education, climate education and technology, climate resilience, and oracy are encouraged.

Also, the competition is open to all currently enrolled university students, so feel free to team up with your friends! And remember, this is a competition to think through a problem and learn to present a solution – you do not need business expertise or previous experiences to join.
