The Jubilee Quartet

Wednesday 19 October, 6.00 – 7.00 pm, Pavilion Room

Hughes Hall College members are invited to attend the first in a new Stradivari Trust Concert Series, featuring The Jubilee Quartet who will play Schubert’s D.887 in G major.

The Stradivari Trust is proud to have supported this talented young Quartet for several years, and Julia Loucks, Violin II, plays a rare early Giovanni Grancino violin from c.1685 acquired through  one of our instrument syndicates.

About The Jubilee Quartet

Originally formed in 2006, the Jubilee Quartet is now made up of four musicians from across the globe. Each member of the quartet brings their unique sense of cultural identity to the group, which thrives on musical inspiration from four different homelands: the Czech Republic, Canada, Spain, and England. .

The quartet has received glowing reviews from The Sunday Times, Classical Source, The Daily Telegraph, Gramophone, Strad Magazine and others for its debut recording of three Haydn quartets released in 2019 on Rubicon Classics. November 2022 will feature the release of their second album for Rubicon, featuring Schubert’s great G major quartet, D.887. Highlights of 2022 include performances at the Wigmore Hall and North York Moors Chamber Music Festival, as well as tours to Scotland and the Southwest of England. The Jubilee Quartet is proud to receive funding from the Royal Philharmonic Society for workshops with children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
