Join Laurie Bristow on 26th April, where he will be “in conversation” with Mary Hockaday, Master of Trinity Hall, to mark the launch of his new book entitled Kabul: Final Call: The Inside Story of the Withdrawal from Afghanistan, August 2021.
Laurie was the last UK ambassador to Afghanistan. He was in Kabul during the Taliban takeover in 2021 and the evacuation from Kabul airport. The book tells the shocking and troubling inside story of the last days of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and offers a no-holds-barred insight into the looming collapse of Afghanistan as western military forces pulled out.
