In Conversation with Anthony Freeling: Celebrating Hughes Hall – South & Southeast Asia

7th March 2022

Since Anthony took up the role of President in 2014, Hughes Hall has gone from a base of 550 students in 2015 to a dynamic community of over 900 students, with a creative and vibrant Fellowship, and an extraordinary international alumni community, over 10,000 strong and represented in over 116 countries.

While Anthony will be stepping down as President this year, we are proud to now say that Hughes Hall is on a stable financial footing, has the most diverse student population of any Cambridge college, and a unique research translation programme—The Bridge—which connects academic experts and policy-makers, practitioners and industry leaders to promote dialogue, understanding and innovation.

In conversation with our Senior Tutor, Tori McKee, and alumni group representatives, Anthony will be discussing these successes, the future of Hughes Hall, answering questions, and allowing our international community a chance to connect and chat. Director of Institutional Advancement, William Connor, will be moderating the discussion.

We will be hosting this virtual event for Hughes alumni and friends across South and Southeast Asia to say goodbye to Anthony, and to celebrate our international Hughes community.
