Green week: careers in sustainability panel discussion

Tuesday 12th March, 18:00-19:00 in the Pavilion Room

Learn about the exciting career opportunities relating to sustainability! No matter your subject of study, this rapidly expanding field has something relevant to you. Our speakers, from different industries and at different stages of their careers, will share their experiences and advice about sustainability-related careers and the opportunities offered in this rapidly expanding sector. The event will be moderated by Darren Johnson from the Careers Service. Please come with questions for the panellists!

 

Panellists are:

Beth Barker: Programme Manager at Aviation Impact Accelerator, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership

Beth is a Programme Manager working on the Aviation Impact Accelerator project, an academic-industry collaboration working to accelerate the transition to sustainable aviation, and on CLG Europe’s work convening industry and advocating for policy to support heavy industry decarbonisation.

Lauren Milden: Policy Adviser at Centre for Science and Policy, University of Cambridge

Lauren has supported academics to develop their policy impact activities, including Policy Workshops, at the Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP) since 2019. She is part of the secretariat for the Cambridge Zero Policy Forum, a multidisciplinary community of academics contributing evidence and expertise to public policy making for the transition to a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient net zero society.

Jake Reynolds: Head of Client Sustainability and Environment, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer

Jake has 30 years of experience in global sustainability, 20 of them supporting transitions in business, government and financial institutions. His experience complements the legal services provided by Freshfields, marshalling insights and perspectives for the benefit of its clients.

Riona Bowhay: Senior Macro Stewardship Analyst, Aviva Investors

Riona Bowhay is a Senior Macro Stewardship Analyst at the Aviva Investors Sustainable Finance Centre for Excellence. Engaging with policy makers and regulators around the world, the team seeks to address market failures on sustainability issues to support the creation of a sustainable financial system. Such issues include climate change, biodiversity loss and antimicrobial resistance.
