Wednesday 10 January, 5-6 pm, Peter Richards Room
The first Doctoral Network event of 2024 is taking place on the 10th of January 5-6 pm in the Peter Richards Room! For those who don’t know, the Doctoral Network is made up of Hughes Hall PhD students and postdoctoral researchers and is an opportunity for the College’s junior research community to come together in a relaxed environment. The group meets once a month on the second Wednesday of the month for discussions, presentations, and general chat.
This month, we will be joined by Diane Caldwell-Hird from the University’s Career Service. She will give a presentation on careers in academia, including job searching, applications and more. This is a great opportunity to hear about what it’s like to start out in academia, so come along no matter what stage of your PhD you’re at.
