The Willard, Round Robin Bar, 1401 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington D.C., DC, US 20004

We are delighted to invite you and a guest to join Director of Institutional Advancement, William Conner, and event guest, Kevin Martin, Centre Manager of the Digital Education Futures Institute (DEFI) at an alumni gathering in Washington D.C.

This is a fantastic opportunity to network with other Hughesians in an iconic venue, and hear from our event guest, Kevin Martin, about how digital technology can be used to change the field of global education.

While we are delighted to be able to cover the cost of your drinks, we ask that you register here so we can estimate expected numbers.

“Nicknamed the “Oval Office of Bars” by Conde Nast Traveler, the historic Round Robin Bar has been a lively meeting place for D.C.’s political and social elite since it was established in 1847. Famous for its circular bar, oak-paneled walls, and its signature drink — the Mint Julep, the Round Robin Bar is a quintessential DC experience offering classic cocktails and light bites in one of Washington’s most iconic locations. Special Guest: Kevin Martin

Centre Manager, Digital Education Futures Institute (DEFI)

With a wealth of experience across the fields of education, technology innovation, poverty alleviation, marketing and business, Kevin Martin is now guiding the mission at the Digital Education Futures Institute (DEFI).

The main goal at DEFI is to work with global partners in industry, policy and practice to creatively explore the field of possibilities that digital technology opens up for education; developing new models of education in order to rigorously investigate their implications and potential impact. While DEFI will never be an uncritical advocate for the use of more education technology it will serve as a catalyst for innovation and development.
