External Director of Studies – Land Economy

Dr Zhaoyang (Leo) Liu is University Lecturer in Applied Economics at the Department of Land Economy. Areas of his research interest include impact evaluation of environmental policies and valuation of ecosystem services in both rural and urban contexts, using applied economic methodologies such as micro-econometrics and economic experiments. The geographic focus of his research includes China, Africa and other regions. He has worked on a number of research projects in collaboration with international organisations and government bodies. He obtained his PhD in Land Economy at Cambridge, and was Lecturer in Environmental and Health Economics at the University of Glasgow before returning to Cambridge.
