Honorary Fellow

A graduate of the University of Durham and of Harvard Business School, Sir Peter Ogden began his career in investment banking before founding Computacenter in 1981. In 1998, he established the Ogden Trust, with a capital of £22.5 million. The project aimed to advance educational opportunities as a guarantee of a fairer society. As he said: “There is not much point in dying wealthy” and “who couldn’t love physics?” A £1 million interest-free loan from the Ogden Trust was crucial in making possible the construction of Hughes Hall’s Fenner’s Building. Sir Peter Ogden was knighted in 2005.

Sir Peter Ogden was elected to an Honorary Fellowship of Hughes Hall in 2003.
