Jane Ramsey recently took up the post as a member on the Committee on Standards in Public Life on 1 September for a five year term. The Committee advises the Prime Minister on ethical standards across the whole of public life in the U.K. Jane has also recently been appointed as Chair of Young Epilepsy, the national charity which provides education, residential services and health services to children and young people with epilepsy, autism and other neurological conditions. It also undertakes medical research. Jane was Chair of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Addenbrookes) for 4 years , joining in November 2012 from University College Hospitals where she was vice chair. She has previously served on the Council of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, the Department of Health Audit and Risk Committee, the Preliminary Investigations Committee of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, chaired a London Housing Association and has been Head of Law for two London boroughs. Jane trained as a barrister and as a lawyer specialised in local government and administrative law. She also served in 2014/15 on the Independent Commission chaired by Sir John Peace into regeneration and wealth creation in non-Metropolitan areas established by the Local Government Association.
