Hong Kong University Visiting Fellow

Dr Chen Chen is a visiting fellow from Department of Urban Planning and Design at the University of Hong Kong, where she collaborates with Dr. Xiaohu Zhang and Prof. Chris Webster as a postdoctoral fellow. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University. Her research interests are about developing innovative technical schemes and management strategies to enhance sustainable resource cycling in urban systems, using environmental system analysis, intelligent algorithms, and geo-technologies. Her current research focuses on how land use change and land management affect the patterns and environmental effects of urban resource metabolism. She is also interested in the scaling laws of urban resource flows. During her visit at Hughes Hall, she will work with the research group of Prof. Julian Allwood on collaborative studies aimed at achieving a smarter urban metabolism and low-emission urban transitions.
