Ayesha Ahmed is a Research and Teaching Associate at the Faculty of Education. She has worked in the field of educational assessment since 1997. The first nine years of this was in the Research Division at Cambridge Assessment. Following this she was a freelance research and training consultant, carrying out projects for exam boards, QCA and Ofqual, including training exam question writers in the UK and internationally. For the past two years she has been working at the Faculty on projects involving the assessment of spoken language skills, classroom talk and assessment literacy.

She teaches on the Education Tripos and on the Masters level PPD course in assessment. She is a Fellow of the Association for Educational Assessment Europe and an Executive Editor of the journal Assessment in Education: principles, policy and practice.
