Women’s Boating Success

Congratulations to our Hughes Hall Boat Club women on a very successful weekend! Our W1 crew celebrated their first regatta victory of the year on Saturday, winning the W2 division in the Pembroke Regatta after going head to head with Downing W2 and Pembroke Alumnae in the Semi-final and Final. A brilliant achievement.

Manja Neumann, captain of the women’s boat, said: ‘Since almost all of the crew members started rowing only 4 ½ months ago, this victory feels very special! It is wonderful to row together with these girls that through determination, enthusiasm and love for this sport have come so far in such a short time! We are now looking forward to competing in the Lent Bumps, which will start on Tuesday 27th February’.

The men’s M1 crew also made fantastic progress over the previous months, keeping pace with the Head of the River crew, LMBC M1, for most of their heat in the Pembroke Regatta.
