Two fully funded places for Hughesians at Armenian Field Study and Practice Program – Apply Now

The Luys Foundation, Armenia’s leading education foundation with a global reach, is offering two fully paid places to Hughes Hall members at their annual Develop Armenia Together (DAT) Field Study and Practice Program for 2017. This is a wonderful opportunity and Hughes is the only Cambridge College to be offered the chance to join students and academics from the world’s top ten universities in a programme which will focus on support for Armenian entrepreneurs and start-up businesses. This year participating universities include MIT and Harvard. All expenses will be paid by the Foundation and the College will cover the costs of return flights from London to Yerevan.

The DAT Program is the Luys Foundation’s signature program that engineers the transition from academic accomplishment to real-life achievement. Every summer Luys Foundation brings together the best of education and innovation to Armenia with Luys “Develop Armenia Together” (DAT) program. Luys scholars from the world’s leading universities work in collaboration with governmental & educational institutions, businesses and other Luys partner organisations.

This year’s programme aims to bring together a group of professionals and establish entrepreneurship consultancy projects focused on business planning in high-tech startups. The team will be working in collaboration with leaders of Armenian incubator and accelerator programmes as well as the Ministry of Economy.

Applicants should have experience in working with start-ups and motivated to work in Armenia this Summer. Desirable applicants will come from the Judge Business School or from a course in Economics, Management or Engineering (particularly the Institute for Manufacturing). This opportunity is open to any interested college member; students, research fellows and associates alike. We are particularly interested in applications from members of the College Enterprise Society.

Timeline – Program starts from July 3rd until August 3rd 2017 in Yerevan, Armenia.  The core working period is 3 weeks, the remaining time is for travel in Armenia. There will be mentoring sessions for you before departure.

To apply, please return a completed application form to development@hughes.cam.ac.uk by 14th June 2017.
