Earlier this month student Thorbjorg Agustsdottir represented the University in fencing against competitors from Imperial College, Surrey, Oxford and Cardiff. As part of the sabre team, Thorbjorg and her teammates achieved an impressive 45-38 win against Oxford ahead of the Varsity Match on March 8.
The University’s combined performance boosted the women’s fencing team up from second position in the Southern Premier League to secure the title. The team will now compete at the BUCS Knockout Championship on March 26, with a view to a place in the final.
