Stradivari Trust Concert Series: Jennifer Pike (Violin), Tuesday 20th June 2017, 6pm, Pavilion Room
College members are invited to the last concert in the Stradivari Concert Series for this academic year.
Jennifer Pike, the youngest ever winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year in 2002, and now celebrated soloist with top orchestras worldwide, will be playing a programme of Polish music at this special event. She will be accompanied by noted pianist Petr Limonov. The programme will include:
- Bacewicz – Polish Caprice & Caprice no.4
- Szymanowski- Violin Sonata
- Gorecki – ‘Farewell’
- Karlowicz – ‘Impromptu’
- Wieniawski – Polonaise de Concert in D major
The concert will begin at 6pm (doors open at 5.45pm) and will be followed by a drinks reception.
Jennifer has had a long association with The Stradivari Trust. The Trust helped her to acquire her fine violin by Matteo Goffriller of Venice c. 1708.
