President Dr Anthony Freeling visits Hong Kong and Singapore

Thirty-five alumni and donors joined President Dr Anthony Freeling in Hong Kong this month to catch up and celebrate their connection to Hughes Hall.

The evening, which was organised by the Hong Kong alumni group and takes place typically twice per year, provides the perfect occasion to mingle with other alumni in the area and hear about the latest developments of the College.

This year’s dinner was one of the most popular events in recent years and we were delighted to hear that our Hong Kong alumni group have come together to support a charity to help disadvantaged children get mentorship and internships to get into work.

Dr Freeling commented: “As ever the enthusiasm of our Hong Kong alumni is most gratifying and is proof that our mission to have impact globally is realistic”.

Dr Freeling also visited Singapore where he met with alumni at The Silk Restaurant of the Singapore Island Country Club. They enjoyed a fine dinner, and agreed that the time was ripe to develop an alumni group similar to the one in Hong Kong, since there are in fact similar numbers of alumni in both locations. Watch this space!
