Last week two College crews fought to maintain or improve their Division position in the Lent Bumps, a key event in the rowing calendar.
On the first day M1 rowed over at the head of Division 3 to progress to a second race in Division 2, where they bumped Anglia Ruskin after less than a minute, while the Women’s Crew bumped Jesus W2 in their Division 2 race. On Thursday W1 progressed within Division 2 again by bumping Sidney Sussex W1, while M1 were bumped by St. Edmund’s. Friday brought another victory for W1 as they bumped up.
On the final day M1 were caught just before the finish line by a determined crew from St. Catherine’s. The Men’s Crew look forward to applying the experience gained throughout the week to the May Bumps. We are proud to announce that W1 earned blades after bumping Lady Margaret Boat Club from St. John’s on Saturday. This is an excellent achievement for the Women’s Crew, and we wish them continued success in the May Bumps.
