Hughes alumnus Chua Lee Ming (LLM, 1987) has been appointed as a Judicial Comissioner of the Supreme Court of Singapore, joining fellow Hughesians Justice Han Tek Choo (LLM, 1985), Justice Chan Seng Onn (LLM, 1986) and Judicial Commissioner See Kee Oon (LLM, 1993). This is a remarkable achievement, as no other overseas institution is as well represented in the Judiciary of Singapore. Justice Choo welcomed Judicial Commissioner Ming, saying ‘It is a credit to Hughes Hall to have more members from its alumni than any other College or University in the UK (or the USA or Australia) on the Supreme Court of Singapore. I am delighted to be joined by a fellow Hughesian, and congratulate him on the appointment’.
