Congratulations to Hughesian Lance Tredell who has been named as the President for the 2017 Boat Race campaign. Lance’s appointment as the next Boat Race Campaign President is particularly special as he succeeds his fellow Hughesian Henry Hoffstot.
Henry did a great job leading the Boat Race campaign and directed the crew to victory at the annual Boat Race against Oxford earlier this year. When we spoke to Lance and Henry earlier this week, Lance was delighted about the news, “It is a great honour to have been elected as President of Cambridge University Boat Club and I am proud to represent Hughes Hall in my role. After a very successful season in 2016 there is a real sense of excitement building within the club as we prepare for the start of the 2017 campaign”.
Henry commented “The CUBC is in great hands next year with Lance Tredell at the helm. Lance is mature, charismatic, and clinical in his professionalism– all attributes that will prove to be essential to the club’s success. It is also great to have another Hughesian in charge”.
We have no doubt that Lance will be a great campaign President and we are delighted to see two worthy Hughesians as back to back Boat Race Presidents.
