Hughes student, Harika Tankasala, wins prestigious scholarship

Congratulations to Hughesian Harika Tankasala who has been awarded the Schlumberger Foundation’s Faculty for the Future fellowship, 2014-2015. Harika is currently in the 3rd year of her PhD in Engineering, and this fellowship will financially support her final year and conference travel expenses.

This is the second year in a row that a Hughesian has received this prestigious fellowship. The fellowship is specifically targeted at outstanding women from developing nations who want to pursue advanced degrees in science, engineering, and technology at leading research universities. Harika says of the opportunity “The Faculty for Future fellowship is a great opportunity for women from developing nations to expand their network and instigate collaborative research across universities back home. I’m excited to be part of this scheme and look forward to continuing my current research under the aegis of this scholarship.”
