Music Café

Hughes Hall invites all college members to an informal evening of music making for Hughesians at the next Music Café. Hughesians are invited to show off their musical talents – sing, play, make music – in a friendly café-style atmosphere.

Programme: anything goes, provided it is not heavily amplified – from baroque to busking, any musical style welcome; instrumentalist, singers, songwriters; soloists, groups and ensembles; poetry reading and drama.

Duration: your performance should be aimed at 5-10 minutes, to allow for a variety, but you may be able to have a second/third go later in the evening, so back-up repertoire may come in handy!

We will provide: chairs, music stands, a grand piano, lights and café-style atmosphere, as well as some refreshments.

Come along and participate, or just sit back, listen and enjoy.

If you know in advance that you want to play/sing/ perform, please contact Dr Aga Iwasiewicz-Wabnig (ai261@cam.ac.uk), but spontaneous offerings/performances will also be welcomed on the night.

We look forward to a great evening.

HH Music Café is a very informal event in the college, which after its initial two years seem to have settled in for one autumn and one spring appearance, where everyone is invited to take part, listen, perform, enjoy good company and a pleasant, relaxing evening.

The next Music Café will be held on Feb 6th – save the date now!
