Evening Event
Cello and Piano Recital, 8:00 pm – 10.00 pm, Jesus Chapel, Jesus College
A rare opportunity to hear Internationally-renowned cellist Alexander Baillie with pianist Nigel Yandell perform a programme at Jesus Chapel comprising music from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries

  • Minna Keal – Ballade
  • Schumann – Adagio and Allegro, op. 70
  • Beethoven – Sonata in C, op. 102, no. 1
  • Gordon Crosse – Wavesongs (1983)

Schumann’s passionate Adagio and Allegro and Beethoven’s Sonata No. 4 in C will be framed by Minna Keal’s early Ballade and Wavesongs, a little known but wonderfully haunting evocation of the sea written by British composer Gordon Crosse in 1983.
