Challenges and ethical considerations of translating health discovery to rural Africa

Join Dr Dora Pereira, Department of Pathology and HH senior member, to discover the journey of translation of an innovative iron supplement from the laboratories in Cambridge to clinical trials in rural Gambia. Dr Pereira will explore the current challenges of conducting clinical research to international standards in rural Africa.

The talk will be followed by an ‘ask the researcher’ session where you can also explore Miss Stelle’s experiences photographing the locals and gain an exclusive preview of their unique photographic exhibition.

Includes wine reception. Click here to book.

This event is part of the Cambridge Science Festival and is linked to the photographic exhibition ‘A day in the life of the IHAT-GUT clinical trial’ taking place during the festival.
