University of Cambridge Undergraduate Open Days
Our next undergraduate Open Days will take place on Thursday 4 July and Friday 5 July 2024.
Cambridge Open Days are aimed at prospective applicants from Year 12 (or equivalent) and mature applicants (aged 21 or over), together with their parents or supporters, to help them learn more about the University.
Bookings are not required to visit Hughes Hall but maybe for other sessions around the University. More information can be found on the University’s website.
Come and visit us – every Monday or Friday
We run informal tours of College every Monday and Friday at 11am for both prospective applicants and offer holders, and their guests. If you would like to book onto one, please email outreach@hughes.cam.ac.uk. When you arrive, please report to the Porters’ Lodge by the front gates. If you require a parking space, please email us your vehicle registration number ahead of your visit.
Please note that each tour has a maximum capacity of ten people, including guests, and we may not always be able to show you inside our accommodation.
Outreach and events
Join a webinar for mature students
Hughes Hall has partnered with the other two mature colleges in Cambridge, and the University Admissions Office, to run a webinar series designed for mature student applicants; students aged 21 or over looking to study an undergraduate degree.
Each webinar focuses on a different element of the admissions process and will include a presentation by staff, the chance to hear first-hand experiences from current students, and an opportunity for you to ask questions.

Talk to an undergraduate or postgraduate Admissions Tutor online – every Monday or Wednesday
Throughout the year, Hughes Hall admissions tutors are available to meet potential applicants via Microsoft Teams or Zoom. You can use these meetings to ask questions about all aspects of life at Hughes Hall and the admissions pathway. We are available on Mondays, 12-1pm and Wednesdays, 2-3pm.
To book a slot please email outreach@hughes.cam.ac.uk and include your name, the course/s you are considering applying for, and a brief overview of your queries. We look forward to meeting you online, answering your questions and telling you more about applying to Cambridge and life at Hughes.
