Congratulations to Thomas McFarlane (CGCM) and Naoki Toyomura (MPhil, Music) who have become recipients of a Cambridge Intercollegiate Instrumental Award. The Instrumental Awards for Chamber Music scheme exists to promote chamber music amongst students of the University. It is a highly competitive intercollegiate scheme and award holders comprise the finest chamber musicians from across the University, many of whom will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors to pursue professional careers as performers of chamber music. Thomas and Naoki will benefit from a financial award from Hughes Hall plus individual lessons and coaching from Music Faculty specialists. Regular recitals are encouraged to enable award winners to development musically, and we therefore look forward to participation from both students in this year’s Hughes Hall music programme.
