Supporting scholarships at Hughes Hall in honour of Dr Anthony Freeling
Having served as College President for the past eight years, Dr Freeling will be stepping down on the 30th of September 2022 on the conclusion of his term of office. To mark this occasion, we want to strengthen a cause close to his heart – scholarships funds for our students.
Since his election in 2014, Anthony has taken the College from strength to strength in various areas. During his time in office, a particular achievement has been the increase in student body to approximately 900, while also nurturing the student experience. Importantly, he has also guided the College through the COVID-19 pandemic, a period which was marked by significant uncertainty and change. It is a credit to his leadership, that the College has come through this period in a strong position and able to look forward to a bright, dynamic future.
In honour of Anthony and all he has done for the College, we are asking for donations to the Hughes Hall Scholarship Fund. Building this fund is particularly important as it provides vital financial assistance to students who might otherwise not be able to come to Cambridge to study.
You can make a donation to our President’s Appeal from anywhere in the world via our Giving Online page and find out more about doubling the impact of new gifts for student support through the Harding Challenge.
