Junwei joined Hughes Hall as a Research Associate in June 2022. He is a postdoctoral researcher in Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry. Prior to joining University of Cambridge, he obtained his master’s degree in the Advanced Materials and Processes program and obtained his PhD on colloid self-organization in confinement in Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany.
Junwei is experienced in emulsions, microfluidics, colloid and soft matter science. He is now exploring how bacteria form multi-layered biofilms and developing bacteria-derived photonic materials that could potentially provide a sustainable alternative to conventional pigments.
