Hughesians raised over £300 for Cambridge City Food Bank

Hughesians have raised over £300 for Cambridge City Food Bank at a screening of the BAFTA winning film I, Daniel Blake in College last week.

The film was introduced by Hughes Hall medical student Fiona Sheppard, who shared her experiences of working as a volunteer at Jimmy’s Nightshelter. The film touches on issues of homelessness and aimed to raise awareness of local homeless issues.

Fiona Sheppard commented “Thank you to everyone who came to our film evening last week. Donations were very generous and we were really pleased to be able to support the Food Bank which does great work supporting vulnerable people”.
