Current Hughes students Jian Wei Aw (2012, BA Law) and Sheena Wong (2013, BA (Aff) Law) were part of the top UK team in one of the world’s most prestigious international mooting competitions which took place in Vienna last week.
Their achievement is all the more remarkable for the fact that this is the first year Cambridge has entered.
The pair, who represented Cambridge in the Willem C. Vis International Moot Court Competition, defeated teams from Harvard, Yale and the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple along the way.
The Vis, as it is known, attracted almost 300 teams from across the globe. Congratulations to them and to Hughes Hall’s Dr Marcus Gehring and Soterios Loizou who supported and coached them to victory.
